Another Page of Note

I just found a really awesome educational site for anyone (hint-hint) wanting to get a jump on some dance moves.

Check out www.bellyrolls.com. Cassiopia does an excellent job describing how to move the different parts of your body.

I'll be working on getting myself back into shape over the next couple of weeks and seeing if I can invest in some dance mirrors to help with the lessons. Wahoo!

Some places for information on dancing

One of the things I plan on emphasizing through the way I teach dancing is the history that Eastern-style dancing has in it's many forms. I will be teaching a dance style called Raqs Sharqi (pronounced Rocks Sharkye), which is a form of stage belly-dance often called cabaret belly dance, but will discuss the dance style associated with India, tribal dance fusion, and the differences between Egyptian belly-dancing and Turkish belly-dancing.

Here are some excellent places to learn about belly-dance on the web.
